Stuart Townsend
Oh, Mr. Townsend, how we lust after thee! As Dorian Grey in League of
Extraordinary Gentlemen, he managed to play both sides of the game with
aplomb. And my, how he could handle that sword! Simply yummy in his
Victorian clothing, Mr. Townsend made a fairly unlikable character from
literature (I mean, how arrogant is it to have a portrait painted of
himself with the intent of aging said portrait in order to preserve
himself for all posterity), well, actually he was still pretty
unlikable. But definitely Hot. Really Hot. So Hot he even pulled off
pinstriped pants. And we still wanted him even after he attacked a girl
(well, a vampire, but still, not really the gentlemanly thing to do).
Kudos, Mr. Townsend. You were just about the only good thing about
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and we appreciated every hairy-chested,
nicely tailored moment.
Mr. Townsend also played everyone's favorite Vampire du Jour as Lestat in Queen of the Damned. We have not yet seen this movie (something about a Dead Girl playing the Undead is somewhat unnerving) and, frankly, we haven't heard too many good things about it. However, Mr. Townsend, though looking a little wan (well, duh, vampire, no sunlight) looked to be quite the Stud Muffin. We may have to reconsider our position on Queen of the Damned.
Oh yes, and Mr. Townsend, we're sorry that you lost the role of Aragorn in Lord of the Rings to Fellow Hot Bad Guy Viggo Mortensen. You have Our Most Sincere Sympathy.
