Kiefer Sutherland
The lovely Kiefer Sutherland, son of Donald Sutherland, has pretty much
made a career out of playing Bad Guys. While some might have forgotten
this because of his Recent Good Guy Success, Mr. Sutherland played
Villains in many of his early roles, including Ace Merrill in Stand By Me
and as David, one of the Vampires in The Lost Boys, in which he fulfilled
so many people's fantasies of trying to kill one or both of the Coreys.
Gorgeous, if somewhat toothy, Mr. Sutherland truly earned his Bad Guy
Stripes, although he was ultimately thwarted.
Mr. Sutherland also played Lieutenant Jonathan James Kendrick in A Few Good Men, although he was overshadowed by Cool Bad Guy Jack Nicholson's portrayal of Colonel Jessup. There's just something about a Man In Uniform to bring warmth to any girl's heart, and the fact that he was a Bad Guy made the experience better overall. (We will not be discussing his role in Eye for an Eye here. If you've seen the movie, you'll know why it's too disturbing to talk about.) Recently, Mr. Sutherland has taken on more Good Guy roles, although all of the Hot Bad Goddesses yearn for days of yore, when he reveled in the Villainy that he explored. And with his big blue eyes, you would never suspect him of doing Evil, which made his unveiling as a Bad Guy so much more effective. Please, Mr. Sutherland, we beg you to return to your roots.
