Terence Stamp
Does it get any better than a Supervillain in black satin pants? No, it sure doesn't. As
General Zod, the kickass Bad Guy from Krypton in
Superman II (and briefly in
Superman), Terence Stamp was the head of a
Villainous Trio of folks who spent quite a while trapped in a piece of glass which floated
through the universe. Aside from being stuck with the Bitch Queen and Mr. Unattractive for
countless years, that kind of situation has to be bad for the back. So, it's no wonder that
he's a bit, er, moody after his unexpected release, courtesy our Primary Color Clad Hero.
Unluckily for Mr. Kent's Alter Ego, that yellow sun that gives him his superpowers also
powers up the Villains, who use their New Found Powers for Nefarious Purposes - picking
fights on the moon, destroying city streets, and forcing the President of the Good Old U.S.
of A. to kneel before General Zod, before His Generalness kicks back in the Oval Office.
Mr. Stamp managed to make the entire world submit to his will in a matter of minutes, plus he kept his two compatriots in line without breaking a sweat. He knew he was Evil and he reveled in it. Why bother to hide when the planet is filled with weak, pitiful humans? Exactly. You know the rest of the drill. Good Guy gets rid of his powers to be with Good Girl, Bad Guys wreak havoc amongst the citizenry, Bad Guys look fabulous and sparkly, Good Guy has a Change of Heart and reduces himself to the use of trickery to defeat Bad Guys, who don't get the Clean Cut Outfit that Superman did after getting rid of his powers. We've seen it all before. But you know, I bet I'm not the only girl who wouldn't mind kneeling before Zod.
