Alan Rickman
In Die Hard, Alan Rickman more than held his own as the Bad Guy Assigned to
Take on Bruce Willis. In that, he showed only the merest glimmer of the
Hot Bad Guy he was yet to become.
Mr. Rickman was very nearly the only positive thing about Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring the accent-disabled Kevin Costner. (Insert shudder here. I'd plead for Mr. Costner to stick with baseball movies, but I actually sat through For Love of the Game, when I could have stayed home and watched the paint on my wall dry.) His parting order to one of his minions to "call off Christmas" could brighten any Villain Fan's rainy day.
However, these roles both pale before the glory that is Professor Severus Snape, Potions Master of Hogwarts in both Harry Potter movies (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, thus far). With super-sexy black robes, a thoroughly creepy classroom, a voice that can command the Forces of Evil, and simple Snapeliciousness, Mr. Rickman has convinced us that living in the dungeons may not be so bad. And that dueling outfit from "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" is simply yummy. Maybe he and Jason Isaacs can do some kind of Harry Potter spin-off - Snape and Lucius go to the beach, Snape and Lucius visit the zoo - though somehow we don't think J.K. Rowling would go for it.
Oooohh Professor Snape, Our Insolence must be Punished.

(It's the voice, baby!)
