Return to Movie Reviews
Ah, X Men. Not just an excuse to see a particularly Hot Man like
Hugh Jackman in Black Leather, but so much more. X Men is
based on the Marvel comic books of the same name.
Short story: people are mutating. Into a higher form of life? Possibly. Some of these
mutants develop special skills like telekinesis or the ability to manipulate metal. (No
word on what happens to the mutants with lousy powers.) Some of the mutants find their
way to upstate New York and the base for the Good Guys, led by Professor Xavier (Hot Bad
Guy Patrick Stewart). The Bad Guys are led by Magneto, played by
Hot and Cool Bad Guy Ian
McKellen. Bad Guys kidnap Good Guy. Other Good Guys attempt rescue, while at the
time preventing Bad Guys' evil plot. Chaos and significant damage to a national monument
ensue.
So, is it worth seeing? Abso-freaking-lutely. Hugh Jackman in Black Leather, remember? That alone should make it work your time. Plus, Ian McKellen's portrayal of Magneto, which got him added to the Cool Bad Guy list, is amazing. So evil and yet so cold. Brilliant. And that's not even getting into his fantastic outfits. The movie has everything: Hot Guys in Black Leather, Good Villains, Drama, Action, Humor, Romance. The only thing missing is a good keelhauling, but since there are no boats, that's probably understandable. Heck, I'm going to go watch it again right now.

Hugh Jackman and, well, Hugh Jackman

doesn't get much badder than Ian

pretty good storyline and non-Guy characters
