The fleet of Nimbus 2001s provided by Lucius Malfoy to the Slytherin Quidditch team in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets have
as nasty a provenance as an object can. Bought with evil money, used as a bribe to get son
Draco on the team, these brooms never had a chance. Not that they wanted one.
How can a broom be evil? Well, it's being used by the Slytherin Quidditch team, so it's got that going for it off the bat. But they even look evil - sleek, ebony handle; sharp, pointed tail; silver fixings that are unnaturally shiny. Compared to Harry Potter's innocent Nimbus 2000 from the previous movie (let alone the school brooms)- a light mahogany handle and friendly tail - they are the devil incarnate. It's hard to tell if they actually did anything evil, but they certainly didn't put up a fight when the Slytherins were fouling the Griffindor players left and right. Even though they lost, the brooms looked good doing it.

For Pete's sake, it's a whole line of brooms, and 7 in the movie!

(They are enchanted, after all.)
