James Marsters
Ah, Spike. Spikey-Spikey-Spike. You were so bad. Well, OK, you still are. Appearing for the
first time in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's second season (an all-around good time for Our Hot
Bad Guys - just ask David Boreanaz!), Spike made an Evil First Impression. And it just kept
more and more evil. The more we learned about William The Bloody, the more he impressed us.
A ruthless, calculating, and undeniably sexy vampire, despite the Billy Idol look, Spike had a slight
setback in season four. The Initiative implanted him with a chip that Zapped whenever he
injured a human. Score one for the "good" guys. And there was much rejoicing. Yeah. Right.
Despite the chip, Spike rose to new heights of evilitude in the sixth season. Newly able to attack at least one person, he went all out - not as a bloodsucker, but attempting to rape someone with whom he had some kind of friendship. If that's not evil, I don't know what evil is.
We've heard some rumors about Mr. Marsters' upcoming work - possibly an incorporeal role on Angel next season. While we are ever hopeful that this will only add to his stature as a Hot Bad Guy, we're afraid. Very afraid.
