Jason Isaacs
The Original Hot Bad Guy, Jason Isaacs burst onto the Villainous Stud Scene
with his portrayal of Colonel William Tavington in Mel Gibson's Revolutionary
War Epic The Patriot. Was it the Accent? The Hair? The Sneer? The Fabulous
British Uniform? Are we all just secretly aching to return to days when we
were just a British Colony and are latching on to any representative of those
Glorious Days of Yore? We can't say, but with the way he looked in The Patriot,
we're even willing to forgive him for his brutal slaying of a central character,
burning that church full of villagers and killing a little kid. And Mel?
Could you have come up with a worse ending for Our Villain?
Mr. Isaacs later cemented his place in the Hot Bad Guy Hall of Fame when he took on the role of Lucius Malfoy, Dark Wizard and Bad Guy Extraordinaire, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This time adding a really nifty snake-headed cane to his repertoire, Isaacs played the part of Villain to perfection, and it doesn't hurt that he got to act as father to Tom Felton, a Possible Future Hot Bad Guy, depending on how puberty treats him, and he got to work with another Hot Bad Guy, Alan Rickman. We eagerly await Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, if for no other reason than because Jason Isaacs has already signed on to reprise his role. Is it a Bad Thing that we attend repeated viewings of a children's movie to drool over the Villains? Maybe so, but that's not stopping us.

+ (I feel that this ranking system needs to be altered for Mr. Isaacs.)
