Although now it's more of a drunken excuse to pretend you're Irish, St. Patrick's Day actually commemorates St. Patrick, the guy who forced the snakes out of Ireland. Well, that sounds like a reason to drink Green Beer.
In order to celebrate All Things Irish, today's Movie Recommendations are all set in The Emerald Isle. First up is Circle of Friends, which stars Cool Bad Guy Alan Cumming, Wanna Be Hot Bad Guy Chris O'Donnell, and Hot Bad Guy Colin Firth's mustache. And Messers. Cumming and Firth are actually even Bad. Oh, and Mr. O'Donnell should Always have an Irish Accent.
Keeping with Our Irish Theme, check out The Matchmaker, which doesn't really star anyone from Our Lists, but still is a fairly cute story. And it's all, like, Irish. Oh, and the Crazy Guy from Braveheart is in it, as well.
If you're looking for a More Classic Irish Movie, try The Quiet Man with The Duke as a boxer who moves to Ireland and falls in love with Maureen O'Hara.
And finally, if you like Dark Comedy and Hot Irish Gangsters, watch Divorcing Jack with Original Hot Bad Guy Jason Isaacs as an IRA Gangster. It also stars David Thewlis and Captain Pellew from the Horatio Hornblower movies.
Naturally, Guinness is the alcoholic drink of choice on this holiday, however feel free to substitute your own favorite green beer.
