Once, We were just Three Solitary Girls, doing what most Young Ladies do - watching movies, hanging out with friends, watching movies, going to parties, watching movies, attending school, watching movies, shopping, and, of course, watching movies. You see, the Other Goddesses, Moonstone and Dandelion, and I, Princess, have not always known each other. While it seems unthinkable now, We Three used to live separate lives, alone in Our Adoration of the Fabulous Villains We saw in many of the Fine Films We viewed in Our Youth. For many long years, We wandered the Earth alone, sadly under the impression that This Penchant for the Guys in Black Hats was a Pervy, nay, a Deviant Interest, one that should be hidden At All Costs from the World, Protected from the Narrow Minds and Sheep-Like Tendencies of Those who Worship the Golden Heroes. For Fear that We would be Outed as the Villain Lovers We Are and Shunned from Polite Society, We Remained Silent.
Some years ago, I met Moonstone. While We hit it off right away, We did not, at first, talk about Our Mutual Preference for Those of a Darker Persuasion; such things are simply Not Discussed. And then came That Fateful Day when We saw The Patriot, and thus, Looked Upon Jason Isaacs for The First Time. Oh, the Glory! Oh, the Uniform! Oh, the Hair! Oh, the Sheer and Unadulterated Villainy! Never before had a Bad Guy so Impressed Us with His Ability to be So Bad and yet So Gorgeous Simultaneously! Our Passion for the Lovely Jason Isaacs Could Not Be Denied! People had to hear about This Glorious Villain, This Shining Example of A Sensuous and yet Dangerous Man! Alas, in My Age and Infirmity, His name continually slipped My mind. Thus, He was renamed, with stunning accuracy, That Hot Bad Guy.
A New Day had Dawned! Mr. Isaacs had inspired Us to admit that We Love Bad Guys, Out in the Open, Where Everyone could See! We were No Longer Ashamed of Our Preference! Let Other, Weaker, More Commercially Susceptible People root for Those Wretched Good Guys! We Prefer those with Evil Plans, an Army of Minions, a Startling Array of Weaponry, and, honestly, a far more Dashing Wardrobe!
Some time later, Moonstone and I met Dandelion. With Our Newfound Peace in Loving Bad Guys, it didn't take long before We discovered that Dandelion also shared Our Opinion that Bad Guys are Better than Good Guys in All Ways. After much discussion, We considered that if Three of Us Liked Bad Guys, there must be others. Others who, perhaps, did not have the Strong Support of Two Other Ladies, and wandered alone, like We had for so many years, believing that there was something fundamentally wrong with them for hoping that the Bad Guy would be victorious in the end. Clearly, it was up to Us to provide some type of support structure for Villain Lovers the World Over. But how could such a Vast Task be accomplished by Three Simple Ladies?
The Intrepid Dandelion came up with a Radical Plan. We Would Create a Web Site. Eureka! What better way to get Our Message to the Masses?! By having a Web Site dedicated to Hot Bad Guys and the Women Who Love Them, We could not only Wax Poetic about those Villains We found attractive, We could encourage others to come forth and admit their Hidden Love of those Brave Men with a Proclivity for World Domination. We could create a Network of Women to support and encourage each other when it seems that everyone else would rather sneak off with Mel Gibson than Jason Isaacs. And so, This is what We have done. Dandelion spearheaded the assignment of securing Our Very Own Domain Name. Moonstone has bravely set forth on the Daunting Mission of learning HTML and doing all the Web Work for the site. We share responsibility for deciding Which of Our Lovely Guys makes the lists and Writing the Homages for the Guys We Love.
It is Our Dream that One Day Soon all women who Love Bad Guys will be able to come forward and be appreciated, not shunned, for their beliefs. Variety is the Spice of Life, after all. We have attempted, on www.hotbadguys.com, to create a forum for Those Like Us. For Our Role in Spearheading this Massive Undertaking, We have become the Hot Bad Goddesses.
