Best known for his role as Tweed-Covered Librarian/Watcher Extraordinaire
Rupert Giles on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not to mention the Guy from the
Taster's Choice ads a couple of years back, Anthony Stewart Head recently
broke out of his Good Guy, Evil Destroying Constraints to take on the
role of Peter Salter on MI-5 ("Spooks" in the UK). I must say, he was
absolutely brilliant. It's a great show anyway, and getting to see the
semi-repressed Giles hanging around with a group of anarchists was
exhilarating. I don't want to ruin the show for anyone, but I will say,
if you get the chance to see it, I Highly recommend it.
Mr. Head's performance in Buffy can also not be ignored as part of this homage. In occasional episodes, he turns into Bad Boy Ripper, a remnant of his past life (not in a literal sense, although I haven't seen every episode) and My Goodness is he Sex On Legs. A tough guy complete with tight jeans, a leather jacket and a penchant for smoking, as well as an interest in dabbling in some of the darker arts, Ripper is everything a Hot Bad Goddess could want in a sex symbol.
And at least one of us really gets off on sexy librarians.

doesn't hurt.
