Nathan Fillion
When his hair is cut right, Nathan Fillion bears a remarkable resemblance to
Sean Bean. Think I'm kidding? Watch Bean in Lady Chatterly,
and then watch any of the Firefly episodes. But as Captain Mal
Reynolds (a.k.a. Captain Tight Pants) is actually a fairly good guy, that's not what we're
here to talk about. Fortunately, Mr. Fillion gained the favorable attention of one Mr. Joss
Whedon, creator and driving force behind both Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And it
was in the final season of Buffy that Mr. Fillion earned his place in the Hot Bad Pantheon.
Fillion appears in Buffy as Caleb, an evil preacher guy acting as the Chief Minion of The First Evil - the ultimate in baddy-bads - with more minions in his employ. In his first appearance he "saved" a girl from "devil worshippers" that turned out to be his own minions, and then accused her of being a dirty soulless whore and brands her with his signet ring and a "cleansing fire." And there was that whole thing with Caleb's thumb and Xander's eye... Yeah, I can't talk about it. Let's just say that Xander is sporting a rather piratey look once Caleb is done with him. And when he's not abusing the good guys, he relaxes by morbidly reliving his old murders.
Caleb has all the mannerisms of a bad guy. He's got the ego, calling Satan a "little man" (which a few of our guys may take issues with - Gabriel Byrne, Viggo Mortensen, those guys.) He perverts the trappings of the priesthood for evil - the outfit because "black is slimming," and the phrases apparently just for kicks. He employs all the usual villain tricks, cryptic messages, oratory, flippant disrespect, taunting, mysterious appearances, misogyny and all. All the while, he remains weirdly polite and looks good doing it (although he really does need a haircut).

It would be higher if he got that haircut

Not the ultimate evil, but working directly for it is pretty bad in itself.

his concern over the slimming effects of black, along with the whole priest thing,
just takes it down a notch.
