Pierce Brosnan
When people think of Pierce Brosnan, many automatically think of Bond, James Bond. But as
the title character in The Thomas Crown Affair,
he is not so much evil as he
is a trickster. But stealing $100 million worth of art from his own museum and attempting
insurance fraud certainly puts him somewhere on the Bad Guy Continuum. And you have to
respect a bad guy so secure in his badness all he has to do is manipulate people, consort
with art forgers, and act Pucklike. Oh, and steal the art. That little thing.
Mr. Brosnan certainly has an advantage over most of our other Bad Guys (Sir Sean excepted) from his days as 007. Is it that Bonds have more fun? Of course not. It's just that they are pretty universally recognized as both Hot and Cool, as well as being the epitome of Guyness. As Thomas ("Tommy") Crown, Mr. Brosnan is Hot, Cool, and everything in between, and a spectacularly Manly Guy. Even in a sarong. Without his shirt. On a beach. What I wouldn't give to have been Rene Russo. Did she get paid for that role? Damn.
